Bobby continued his hot streak Tuesday night at LaSalle (IL) Speedway, storming to victory in the opening round of the FloRacing Night in America Illinois Speedweek. Starting sixth in the 50-lap feature, Bobby patiently picked his way through the field before taking control on lap 27 — and never looked back.
Once out front, “The Smooth Operator” lived up to his nickname, pulling away to win by over three seconds and pocket the $20,000 payday.
The win adds another highlight to what’s been a remarkable run of consistency for Bobby, who has just one finish worse than third (in 14 starts) since Florida Speedweeks back in February.
“The track was phenomenal,” Bobby said after the win. “If you could hit a good lap on the top, it was really fast. You could go to the bottom and kind of make some passes down there, too. Pretty cool to see a racetrack come back to life like this. You know there’s a lot of good fans in this area — they deserve a good track here, so that’s cool to see.”
