Bobby continued his dominant run in 2025 with win No. 18 on Friday night, capturing the $12,000-to-win Firecracker Faceoff at I-55 (MO) Raceway in a co-sanctioned showdown between the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
Starting on the outside of the front row, Bobby wasted no time grabbing the lead and set a blistering pace early, building a commanding four-second advantage in the 40-lap main event. But as the race entered the closing stages, heavy lapped traffic allowed the second-place runner to close the gap.
A late-race caution with just two laps to go added one final challenge, but the “Smooth Operator” stayed composed and held off the field to notch his 50th career Summer Nationals victory, placing him third on the all-time wins list.
“I was pretty nervous before the caution came out,” Bobby admitted. “I didn’t know where to go. I saw Ryan (Gustin) under me there right before that caution came out. I tried to get back to the bottom quickly, and we did. It was a tough racetrack, very tricky to drive. I didn’t know — sometimes being in the lead, it’s tough.”
