Bobby made a valiant effort but fell just short Wednesday night in round three of the Wild West Shootout at Vado (NM) Speedway Park. Pulling to within a car length of the leader with six laps to go in lapped traffic, he couldn’t make the winning pass and had to settle for a runner-up finish. “We were catching them there,” Bobby said. “We had a shot and (Davenport) never made any mistakes. He’s a heck of a wheelman. So hard to pass there; you get those lapped cars in between you. It was so much fun. I was very happy with second. All in all, I think we were really good. We keep knocking on the door!”
