Leading the first 70 laps in the annual Illini 100 Saturday night at Farmer City (IL) Raceway, Bobby looked to be on his way to his first Illini 100 win until a late caution with five laps to go. On the restart, he lost the lead, but was not going to be denied this time as he made a daring move entering turn three, sliding in the front of the leader as they came to the white flag, and held on to record his first career World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory and a $20,000 payday! “It was probably one of the most exciting finishes I’ve ever had,” Bobby said. “Luckily we pulled it off. Just the right amount of laps left to do it and have the last lap to seal the deal there. Just to get it for myself, but my family and friends too. They’ve wanted it as bad as me. They know I’ve been so close. It’s just crazy to finally get it. It feels like the World 100, it really does. Man, I’m shaking. This is awesome.” — Jacy Norgaard Photo
