Second in WoO Battle at the Border Prelim at Sharon

sharon may25Bobby moved up from his fifth starting position to finish second Thursday night in the opener of the three-day World of Outlaws sanctioned Battle at the Border at Sharon (OH) Speedway. He drove his backup car after suffering mechanical trouble with his primary mount shortly before hot laps. This didn’t slow him down, however, as he set fast time in his qualifying group. He reached second in the 25-lap main event after a lap 13 restart but was unable to challenge Madden for the lead. “I think we could’ve possibly got the job done tonight if we would’ve beaten Madden in that heat race,” Bobby said. “We had a really good battle in the heat race, and for him to be the one who won the race, I guess it’s not too bad. That says we weren’t a bad second place.” With his runner-up finish, Bobby now has three consecutive top five’s in WoO competition and six straight overall.
