There is a new name atop the World of Outlaws Series point standings. Bobby picked up his second consecutive WoO victory Tuesday night at Mason City (IA) Speedway and is now the series points leader. Starting on the pole of the 40-lap race, Bobby lost the lead on the opening lap but continued to put pressure on English for the top spot as they maneuvered through traffic. On lap 26, English had a flat tire, and Bobby inherited the lead. From there, he led the rest of the way for his fourth (full-field) WoO win of the season. “Tanner got the jump on me, and he was keeping a really good pace,” Bobby said. “Clanton was there with us, too. Good thing we got a good redraw tonight. I saw Tanner’s right rear getting low, and I didn’t know if it was his setup or his tire. I was more nervous because I hoped it didn’t happen to me. My tire was completely bald because of the rubber, and we definitely got a little luck tonight.” Chasing the points this season has been a challenge for Bobby and his team, but one that they enjoy. “We like a challenge,” Bobby said. “It’s something fun and intriguing to look (at the points) at the end of the day when you’re done racing. All the hard work is paying off from making gains at this point.”
