Bobby’s career year continued on Saturday night as he cashed in on his second $50,000 payday of the season with his first USA Nationals World of Outlaws Series victory at Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway. Starting fifth in the 100-lap crown jewel race, he reached second on lap 22 and set his sights on the lead. He took the top spot on lap 35 and led the rest of the way but had to hold off a last-lap slide job to win by 0.073 seconds. Bobby finished second in this event in 2014 and was hoping to someday have an opportunity to nab his first wooden eagle trophy. “I’ve always wanted to lead laps in this race towards the end,” Bobby said. “We were always getting there too late. I’ve finished with a lot of top five’s and top 10’s in this race. It was a long time coming here.” One week after another $50K crown jewel win slipped away, this time Bobby was not to be denied. “Anyone that’s asked me before knows this race is right up there with the Prairie Dirt Classic,” Bobby said. “It’s one I’ve wanted to win for a long time.”
