Making his first DIRTcar Summer Nationals start of the season, Bobby picked up his 48th career tour win Friday night at Tri-City (IL) Speedway. He is not following the tour this season as he chases his first World of Outlaws Series championship. “Missing them first two races was a little hard to watch while we were working in the shop,” Bobby said. “It was definitely hard to see that because I’m used to being at all the Hell Tour races.” Starting third in the 40-lap race, Bobby fell back to fifth early as he searched for the fastest lane. “Found out the bottom was working well for me, and I was able to get below some guys,” Bobby said. “It gave me a run and I could slide them and get past them.” He took the lead on the 17th lap and stayed out front the rest of the way. He stretched his lead to over three seconds at one point as he cruised to the win.
