Regaining the lead on lap 39, Bobby pulled away over the remaining 11 circuits to score the $10,000 DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory Saturday night at Fairbury (IL) Speedway. Bobby’s incredible streak at FALS continues as he has now won five consecutive feature races at the Illinois oval with $87,000 in race winnings. Bobby started on the pole and led early until he encountered the back of the field which slowed his progress as he navigated through the heavy traffic. “It was tough,” Bobby said. “There were cars three-wide. It was pretty wild.” He lost the lead in the middle stages before grabbing it back late with breathtaking moves to get around the slower cars. “He (Babb) was pulling away at that time, and I got up top and was just letting it rip,” Bobby said. “It was kinda like Hail-Mary, last shot for it. We caught the other pack of lappers, and I noticed he was having a hard time with them.” Bobby surged into the lead and went on to record his 49th career DIRTcar Summer Nationals win, his first at Fairbury.
