$5,000 Thaw Brawl Winner at LaSalle!

lasalle5000apr3What better way to break out of an early season slump then return to the quarter-mile bullrings of Illinois. Making his first home-state start of the season, Bobby took the lead on the fourth lap of the ALMS Thaw Brawl opener on Friday night at LaSalle and led the rest of the way picking up the $5,000 top prize. He built up a 5.4 second advantage at one point before entering lapped traffic on lap 16. He led 47 of the 50 laps and won by 1.916 seconds.

"We've been in a slump big time," said Pierce, who entered the Sunoco American Late Model Series doubleheader with just a single top-five finish to his credit in eight 2015 starts spread between February's East Bay Winternationals and last month's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events in Ohio and Indiana. "Heck, I haven't won a heat race in so long. Tonight was my first heat win since I-don't-know-when, so it was a good feeling to finally start winning races again." -- Jim DenHamer Photo
