Runner Up on Second Night of Wild West Shootout

arizona jan7Bobby and his team are quickly dialing in the new XR1. Starting on the pole of the 40-lap main event Sunday night at Arizona Speedway, after the crew worked feverishly to replace the motor after the heat race, Bobby jumped to the lead at the start and distanced himself from the field when a caution would come out with nine laps in the books. On the restart, Bobby drove to the top, opening the door for the second place car (Weiss) to poke his nose in there as the two put on a spirited back-and-forth battle of slide jobs. While leading with four laps to go, Bobby's car pushed up the track and the second place car (Shaw) was there to take advantage as he drove by Bobby for the lead. Bobby held on to finish second at the checkers. "Congrats to Shaw on the well deserved win," Bobby said after the race. "Thanks to my crew for busting their tails having to change the motor, and a big thanks to Mark Richards for all the help to get us pointed in the right direction." -- Photo Finish Photo
