18th to 2nd at Jacksonville Summer Nationals

Just as he did ten days ago at Eldora, with Freddy again riding along, Bobby mounted another spectacular comeback from deep in the field Tuesday night at Jacksonville to keep pace with Moyer in his pursuit of a third straight Summer Nationals title. He started 18th after suffering wiring issues in qualifying and having to unload the backup car. Then if his luck could get any worse, a flat right rear tire in his heat race resulted in a sixth place finish and a ninth row starting spot in the 40-lap feature. “It was a heckuva night. Sometimes when bad luck strikes, it just keeps coming in full force,” Bobby said. “It was a crazy night. I’m just glad that we came from 18th back to second.” On a night that could have been disastrous in points, Bobby and his team kept diggin' and he posted a runner-up finish to stay second in the standings as the tour moves on to race seven.
